Need your guys help what car is a better deal?
« on: June 16, 2013 - 11:36:24 AM »
Hi i wanted to see what you guys think is a better buy for the money or if i should just wait. First car is a 1974 challenger with a 383 big block needs a little work she runs asking 6k with rust in the back window and not sure if sunroof is original. 2nd car is a 73 challenger all the original running gear previous owner put on a holley intake and edelbrock carb. The trunk has some pitting and some surface rust hear and there but no actual cancer all the metal is still very firm and solid there is a lot of old undercoatings and paint in the trunk that make it look a little ugly the whole car is very solid no cancer on the body or floors, trust me I know how hard it is to find a mopar that is this solid he wants 12,000.

The blue car (74) has a 70 front grill. are the rear lights long or smaller and seperate? Also, 74's never ame with big blocks so it appears it is a 70 clone. 6k isn't a bad price, but to fix the rust in the window can be costly (paint, glass, vinyl roof) The 72 looksold school and 12 k isn't outrageous, but you cna get a real nice 70-71 for around 16k. Depends what you want- a complete driver, a car to restore and what year do you like the best?

The blue one will be expensive to fix but if you spent 6k on it may still be a better car than the 73 white one , I doubt the sunroof is original , did they offer that after 71? The front bumper looks funny sticking out with the 70 grille . If you want the 70 look you are 1/2 way there though .
You can see the deck lid & top of the 1/4s are bad on the blue car as well as the roof , not enough pix of the white cor to really tell .
