Help needed if worth to buy??????????

Hi Guys/Gals I am building a 512 stroker and always been told to save and spend the cash on good heads, so my question would be what would indy EZ 325 full cnc ported and offset rockers all upgraded with the best parts, if anyone can help me out here it would be great, Thx

Nothing wrong with those heads, but for a better bang for your buck, you might want to look into the 440Source Stealth aluminum heads. They sell them plain and then a cnc ported option. They run $2,000.00/pair fully assembled. The non-cnc ported heads are about 1/2 that price. I have a set on my stroker motor and they are awesome. I had mine ported by a local machine shop. Is that with offset rockers or any at all, I can grab these for 2500 + 500 for offset rockers so total 3 grand and new is 4900 +1100 for rockers, but I will look at them also, thx

The heads don't come with the rockers/shafts, but they have aluminum roller rockers & shafts (comes in 1.5 & 1.6 ratios) for about $215/set.

chambers opened up to 4.5 from 4.3
metal body viton valve seals
ferrea severe duty 2.25 intake and 1.81 exh valves
Pac 1225 roller cam springs
Titanium valve Retainers
10 degree locks external oil line
plus offset rockers included

So I would like to build a 511/512 stroker and might have a payment option on these hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I am using a 400 block + .030 over and new everything else, thx

I have not used those heads , the EZ heads make a ton of power as well , the 440 Source Super Stealths are available as well & I have not used those either , either way buy good rockers , I have heard nothing good about 440 Source rockers .
 Just so you know the 400 512 build is basically a race engine , the oil rings go over the wrist pin , the piston is extrememly short 400/470 or 440/512 seem to make a better street combo but I am not sure what the intended use of the engine is .

What are the ported 440 Stealth Heads supposed to flow, if you get them ported from 440 Source?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Go to the 440Source website (www.440source.com) . They have a spec page with all the head data and flow rates that should answer your questions concerning chamber size, flow rates ect. The heads are a good deal for your money, but like Neil said, you might want to look elsewhere for rockers/shafts. I used Hughes Engines cryogenically treated 1.5 ratio cnc'd aluminum roller rockers.  8)

Thx guys, but I am not looking for a race engine, I want a strong street racer and with manners. What is the biggest build I should go then 470/496/500 ci
This must be with a 400 block and .030 over, I did not buy anything else yet and want to start looking for deals or sales on stuff, that is why I want to know what to go with in this build, like is it cheaper to look for a steel 440 crank and get turned down or buy a new crank with stroker kit, etc. THANKS

I run the 230 casting 400/451 combo. Still pulls me in the seat at 120mph. Also if you plan on the 470 or 451 (which as CP said is about as large as you want with the B block) then I would use the same heads as mine - Standard Indy EZ with the thicker Mopar rocker shafts, Indy hold down clamps and the old 273 style rockers from Crane. I also use lash caps on top of the valves. I have taken this engine to 8000 but won't do that again. 7000 is easily done though.

I don't know if you have looked in the "Proven Engine Combo's" section of this website. There is a lot of good info there that might answer some of your questions regarding different engine builds using a 400 block. It might help giving you a starting point and help narrow down more specific questions regarding your personal build.  :2thumbs:

I'm sure you could, but you'd probably have to boost the compression to the point where you could no longer run pump gas. You could always install a blower!  :working:

Well I am going to research stealth cnc ported or the rpm ported I will look on here see what people thing is better, thx
