This sounds like a stupit question . 1970  ebody 8 - 3/4   were is the drain plug   ?  489 case cheers. :clueless:

There isn't one you have to loosen the bolts and pry forward a bit and creat a gap between the third member and the housing. Probably the worse design ever lol best to add one in yourself for ease later on down the road.

A drain plug could weaken the housing, but would have been nice.
you can siphon it out.
I used one of these to get it going, then it just drained over night into a small plastic tub.
You should get about 2 quarts out.

But there's all kinds of ways to suck it out. A lube joint can do it for you. It smells so bad, that may be the way to go.

I made my own fill and drain plugs when I ran a 8 3/4"  worked great and not hard to do.
