Question about the Lower Control Arm
« on: March 27, 2005 - 11:50:11 PM »
Hey guys, does anyone know if this shaft is supposed to be able to come out of the hole?  Here's a photo of what I'm talking about:
1973 Dodge Challenger......................The ongoing project. (00/----\00)
1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin-Turbo....The sunny day cruiser (RTBoost)
1990 Toyota Celica GT Liftback...........The new daily & winter driver.

if you replacing the bushing with poly graphite heat the pin up & use a tie rod pickle fork to pry the pin out of the LCA ,the outer shell stays in place  with the poly bushing , if you are replacing the bushing with rubber the outer shell needs to be pressed out of the arm too

Alright, thanks for the info. Chryco.  I plan on redoing all the bushings and such, so I'll get this side out, too.  The reason I asked this was because my other side had already come out.  The steel sleeve on the inside was already mangled up, so that side just pulled right out with the K-frame's removal.  This side, on the other hand, is well pressed in there.
