So let's see if these will fit.....
« on: March 26, 2005 - 11:22:00 AM »
I was looking at a nice set of 17" wheels recently. They were listed in the 5 on 4.5" area. The fitment description suggested "Ford Explorer, Sport Trac, Ranger; Jeep Cherokee(all yrs), Grand (pre-99); Toyota Truck 5-lug".
I know several folks are trying the Mustang billets but need spacers to work due to the center bore of the wheel being to small to fit the standard stock disc. What is the correct bore needed on a Mopar and with the vague description does it seem like these would fit without a spacer? These are Centerlines Sunrays by the way.

thx

you don't need adapters to fit over the hub. You need them to get the back spacing right. You can easily to get them to fit over the hub with about 5 minutes with a die grinder.

the center register hole does center the wheel on the hub so hogging it out may not be the best Idea

Turned down if someone has a machine. I thought the lugs center the wheel?  If you have SST type lugs and they go into the rim how could the wheel be off center?? Thanks!

it reduces the load on the studs if the rregister centers it , , I`m not saying it won`t work but it is better to do it correctly
