    interior carpet up firewall

    how far does the interior carpet go up the firewall? I'm putting sound deadener in the car and want to know how far up i can go with keeping it covered.

    When you walk up to the car from the back(with the doors open) you don't want to see any bare firewall.  I trimmed the PS flush with the bottom of the heater box. The DS I trimmed above the gas pedal and notched it around the steering column.

    I usually slide up so it i sjust behind the heater box by 1" or so
