More info on the car?

I wish I had a really cool story or info on the car...but there really isn't anything worthy to submit to one of the magazines.

A military lady bought it after coming back from Vietnam (fairly common...other than it was usually "guys"). She owned it for about 19 years...drove it mostly to work and back/highway a lot. In fact, when engine was pulled (around 128K miles I think) the guy doing most of the work was blown away he couldn't feel a ridge with his fingernail in the cylinder bore. He said it was very well maintained and driven.

As a reward to myself after my second divorce, I started looking for a Barracuda or Challenger...even in 1989'ish, there wasn't too many in my large city. Those I found were beaten to death. I actually laughed when I saw the ad for this one...$6,500 (if I remember correctly) for a 125,000+ mile 318 2BBL / auto / Barracuda??? Yeah, right! (cars like that were going for $2,500-$3,500 here back then)
After a few days I decided to call after curiosity set in...maybe there was some special reason for the high price (?). She explained that by listing a high price, it kept all the teenagers away who wanted to come and just test drive it.  She sensed I would restore and treasure the car and sold it to me for $1,900

Ps Thanks that no one has made little comments about how my car isn't "original" (AAR spoiler, painted hockey stick stripe, painted scoops, etc.) It is a Day Two car...plus it was a 318 2-BBL car, hubcaps & very laid back yellow color...I'm just not gonna' drive it like that (no offense to those who would have restored to "original".   The Porsche forum I belong to (for my 928) always has some guy on it, somewhere, who has to pick on something about my 928 not being 100% original.

I'm thinking to "black out" the tail panel...if I do, I didn't feel right to change "Barracuda" emblem to 'CUDA"...any opinions?  It really isn't a 'CUDA clone, but it is not a "base" Barracuda anymore either...

I really like the hood paint.
looks mean.

Opposite the v21 option.

Here are some close-ups: (some of you "may" not like the trunk stripe...hey, it was 1990 when repainted)
