Got to take my boy for his first real ride in the Cuda
« on: August 08, 2013 - 01:05:05 PM »
So last weekend I finally put new seatbelts in the back of the cuda and was able to mount the car seat. My boy is 2 1/2 and loves my Cuda.
Before last weekend we just putted up the street in first gear because I didn't have a car seat.  But Sunday we got to go for a real ride. He was in all his glory back there making his own car noises. We even go to do a smokey burn out in front of our friends house.  Little gear head in the making. See the profile pic for our before ride picture.

That's awesome man!  I'm in the same boat, occasional 10 mph putt around the block with by boy who just turned 3, really looking forward to the experience you just had!  We are building a little mopar army! Hahah

Sounds great Moparman82.  If you get belts for the rear, get shorter belts. All I did was run the lap belt through the car seat forward facing.  Pretty sure a rear face seat will not fit back there. I also put it in the center of the rear seat. So I only have one seat belt back there.

Yeah I got my belts but we are shoulders deep in remodeling a house to flip, so once I get that out of the way I'll be able to turn a little more attention to getting stuff done on the car

:ylsuper:  sounds like fun! Take them out lots....they grow up quick! At 4 years old and up I spent quite a bit of time in the rear of a 71 Challenger. It left an impression! :grinyes:

That is very good. Father and son bonding. My 7 years old son loves to sit in my new Challenger but refuse to sit in my 73. He said it is stinky (exhaust) :dunno:

Some of my best childhood memories are going for drives in my sisters' cudas (the red '70 that my folks still have and a '73 360 4 speed). The '70 has been passed on to me, while my sister with the '73 has recently purchased a 2014 Challenger Rt Classic with my brother in law. The '73 was sold about ten years ago now. My niece is afraid of the Cuda because its "too loud", but my nephew loves it. They both seem to be big fans of the new Challenger though...

My dad often jokes that "he ruined us" because he passed on his love of MOPAR muscle cars :)

I welcome that type of "ruining" lol
