HELP NO OIL PRESSURE

kinda hard to believe that the port is plugged with the pressure it sees?

If no oil up top or the drill spins freely in the pump, then you will have to pull the pan and check the pick up but I think it is unlikely to have come out given that it is threaded.

That's a good idea too, if you have a priming shaft you could spin the pump and see what happens without turning the motor over....Run it both ways too to clear any blockage...

The pick up doesn't have enough room to fall off...

I'm open to all of your suggestions.
I ordered a new melling
HV pump, should be here tomorrow. That will eliminate one problem for sure and start working towards the top! I'M trying all of your suggestions, one of them will fix it so I can drive it.

I have not used a hv pump but many suggest the beefed up drive shaft to prevent breaking the normal one...lot more force on the drive given the taller gears

Silly question.  Are you sure there is enough oil in the Pan? I've seen stranger things.

It's shows full on the dipstick. But it had 60lbs yesterday.

I have seen the oil pumps refuse to reprime after a filter change also could be a problem with the filter , I hope you are Not using Fram

The pick up doesn't have enough room to fall off...

might be a leak in the pipe. Possibly loose and hit my the crank or rod

I still want to know if the sign on no oil pressure is just the gauge or is the motor noisy as heck ?

Perhaps a big piece of dried oil sludge is blocking the pickup. Worth checking but the pickup screen may have taken care of that.

I thought he had removed the sender / line at the rear of the block & there was no oil getting there ?

he did, but the question arose regarding the possibility of the port being clogged which would seem to be remote given the pressure at the port, but I guess it could be possible
