If you still have your original headliner board, keep it.  The headliner material is still made, but has a thicker back to it.  you can find it here:
http://www.stockinteriors.com/HeadlinerColorsUp.asp?TypeId=21 (Search under Headliner Board)  A1928 is the code for Black.

It is the same texture as the original, just thicker.

What a great project! N-code 383, A36 axle package, Rallye dash, FC7, AM-8 Track, disc brakes, A/C, and black leather interior!  Love me those overhead console cars!

Yes I have the original and it is in pretty good shape, so thats another project on the long list

I think they only sell the fiberglass ones ? I don't really know what they're made of, I've never been in the market for one.

I guess it would be kinda hard to install an overhead console in one of your many sunroof cars!   :roflsmiley:

Yes, fiberglass are the only ones I am aware of.  Tim, don't lose yours!

Well its time to get back to the grind, I got a lot done on my car, well at least I think I did, sound deadening 95% done, will put in the doors later. I did get my wiring(New) installed, thats the only way to go, spend all that money to put a old wiring harness back ? Not a good idea. If you remember early in my thread, I was having issues with the fuel line, chunked the first one and bought a new one, PERFECT. I have no clue what the other was made for.

As you can see its not even close.
Before shot

After

This job was not bad, just time consuming, since it was a little cool I applied it using a heat gun and small roller, then I put aluminum tape on the seams, I was thinking about putting it on the roof also, just dont know how it would react to the heat in the summer time. I do have the cardboard type of headliner so I might be ok.
Brake/ gas e-brakes media blasted and painted along with the chrome trim rings. I thing I did find out is the rubber covers I put in the media blast cabinet with fine media, and they turned out great.
While in the process of rebuilding my heater box I decided to clean inside the motor and grease it,

NOW, for those of you that have never done this, this little dude was a pain. And for the ones here that have, you know what I am talking about. Well when you pull the armature the brushes pop out. There may be a better way or a special tool to hold them in place but I did not have one, so I made one, took a stiff wire and shaped like a "V" one side being longer than the other. But I did get it back together and cleaned the armature with very fine sand paper to clean up the contact points. Works like a charm. This dude had not seen grease in many years.

A few pics of the heater box with a new heater coil and condenser coil.

I had a gasket kit that came with the car, so I media blasted all the doors, got all that old foam (all that was left was a thin layer of tape). All of my actuators was good, who would have thunk It.

Once I had it back together I applied a clear coat to give it a little shine, just a clean look

Wow, nice job.  I was wondering what to do with the blower fan and windshield wiper motor.  I was hoping I could freshen them up without replacing. Thanks for the warning.

Good job on the heater box.  :2thumbs:  I did the same to mine.  Fortunately, my motor was okay so I didn't have to take it apart.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

My motor was ok, just thought it would be a good time to introduce some new grease LOL. But to put the brushes back in place first it takes at least one beverage to calm your nerves . Then working through the blower vent hole with the V shape wire. I forgot to mention that before.

Hello, my Challenger has one vent tube on the tank, and one on the filler neck. I bought the tubing that connects to the filler neck and goes through the trunk floor(kit), as many have seen. Do I run rubber hose from the filler neck tubing to the gas tank?
