Hi everyone,

My name is Bob, I'm from Raleigh, NC.  I'm new here.

I just bought my first mopar (and muscle car, for that matter).  A green 73 challenger.  It was originally a 318/auto/factory AC car, but at some point the 318 and AC were ripped out and a 360 (with no AC) went in its place.

Funny story about this car, and how I came to get it.  About 18 months ago, my good friend Aaron had his Plum Crazy challenger stolen in Worcester, MA.  He got it back (I assume most of us know the story -- it's on the boards here somewhere).  Anyway, like I said, Aaron is a very good friend of mine.  I was up in Massachusetts for my bachelor party this past April, saw this car at his shop, test drove it and loved it.  Knocked it around for a few months and then decided to buy it.  It was just delivered to me at the end of July.

The way I like to describe this car is that it needs a little bit of alot.  A little bit is, of course, a relative term.  It runs and drives well enough for now and the body is in good (enough) shape.  It's going to require some rust repair and panel replacement in at least a few spots.  I haven't had a chance to go through the car top to bottom yet to put together a priority list and come up with a game plan, but, most of it is going to need at least a little work.  Cosmetically, I've already decided it's going to be b5 blue with a black vinyl top, even if its one of the last things I do to the car.

As for me, I bought a house in early May, got married in late May and am finishing grad school...so, I have loads of free time for a muscle car.   :screwy:

I have some experience fixing cars, but I'm very much an amateur at this and at some point will probably find myself asking stupid questions.  I promise I'll use the search function if you promise to be as patient as possible with me  :)

Thank you for all the help you've given me while I've been lurking here for the past month or so and thank you in advance for all the help and advice I'll get from you as I go forward with the car.  I look forward to being able to show off my progress as I take my car from a running project to a beautiful looking and running classic.

Thanks!

Bob

Edit: I've added a picture of my challenger.  For those that know Aaron, this picture was taken outside his shop on Chandler St in Worcester.
