The writer is obviously a Chevy or Ford lover as he starts by bashing the heck out of Chrysler for the first few paragraghs before even talking about the Challenger. He was also wrong on a number of points he made-Chrysler was actually first to the market with the Barracuda not a follower of trends and always late to the game like he said.

About 1978, when I had first bought my car, Consumer Reports put out a review and rating of musclecars. They trashed the Challenger (too heavy, uncomfortable seating, too slow, yadda yadda), and then a few pages later lamented that the Barracuda was an underrated sports car which should have lasted longer. It was at that point that I decided that Consumer Reports didn't know its a$$ from a hole in the ground, a believe that has since been proven many times.

Thanks for posting that article, it is always good to get a reflection of what people thought about a car at that time. It shows plainly that this writer was so blinkered it was amazing that he could see his typewriter to type it up. Somebody should remind this biased person about how wrong he got things at that time. Maybe he wasn't paid like some other companies do to get a good review!   :money:
Chrysler were the first with a pony car beating ford (mentioned earlier), Chrysler have generally been at the fore front of ideas new and innovations.
