dash frame ?

ok so I have a 1973 challenger it has ac but its pretty mest up.
I found this whole dash on cl but its not ac I was wondering can I use the frame an just put a new dash pad on it with ac
will that work?

the frames are all the same except for the hole for the 4 spd reverse light by the ashtray so yes it will work for you

Correct, and the hole for the 4 speed is not just a round hole, it's a punch out hole with a notch so the light sits straight.

The 70 and 71 dash frames are different from later years. But you really have to know what you are looking for to pic the differences, you literally have to have the two style side by side to pick the difference, it must have been a modification from the factory to change the frames to make them stronger for some reason. All dash frames will still work the same way and look cosmetically the same when fully fitted out with pad, cluster and plastics. So unless you are right in to 100% factory correct, this will not matter.
