1970 Challenger R/T in Basel, Switzerland
« on: October 20, 2013 - 07:08:11 AM »
I just got back from a trip to Europe, and on the first day there (Friday, October 4) in Basel Switzerland what do my ears hear but the rumble of a Mopar big block!  Across the intersection was a beautiful Vitamin C Orange, white vinyl top, 1970 Challenger R/T (and S/E from the quick glance I got as it went below sight).

Does it belong to any of our members here?

The only other old Mopar I saw was a 78-79 Cordoba 400 in Schaffhausen Switzerland.  Saw lots (for Europe anyway) modern Chrysler products (PT cruises, Crossfires, a 300 Touring Wagon, Dakota 4x4, older 300M) and several new Camaro's, a Mustang GT/CS, a Corvette). It was interesting to see those compared against the backdrop of so many fuel efficient 4 bangers.  but at 1.50 euro per litre (about $7.66 per gallon) I understand why!

cool trip to a beautiful country  :2thumbs:   There `s a whole bunch of really nice classic mopars in Switzerland...  The Swiss are really pround of their cars and it shows  :bigshades:

so, how often do you see e-bodies in the wild in the usa?   I know I only saw 1 (one) 72-up challenger here.... and that was at least 15 yrs ago.

70CUDA4SPEED,
I remember talking with you, but unfortunately I do not recall your name (TMB syndrome - Too Many Birthdays).  I should be there as well on Saturday. I don't know if I will be back sunday. I took first place in the E-body Plymouth category and I don't have to have a trophy.

Dutch,
Most of the ones that I see are on the days of the car shows, but every now and then I do see some "in the wild"!
