Painless wiring - '73 Challenger

Trying to wire up my car without an original harness and the Painless kit does not have the original style connectors for such as the steering column, wiper motor, or any light sockets.  I can source the light sockets but what should I do for the wiper motor and steering column connections?  Cut the old connectors off and use bullet style or try to fins the correct ones on the internet? 
My car is running the MSD EFI and ignition as well as electric cooling fans and vintage air.  All those connections will be custom jobs as well and that's why I went with the Painless kit.  Not really so Painless though.

I'm also running all AutoMeter gauges.  The factory harness would not have been much use to me.

That's what I did with my Painless Mopar setup.  Cut off the old ends where I had to and put them on the new harness.  The universal Mopar one get you close to the right colors.

I am in the process of doing about the same thing.  I found a harness on here i think and used the connectors out of that for the steering column.  I sourced bulb sockets locally too but I haven't done anything with the wipers yet (don't plant to drive in the rain much so we shall see)

If the plastic connector bodies are in good shape you can reuse them and just buy new male and female Packard style terminals.  That's what I did with my Painless wiring setup (I used a universal kit).  For example here's one place to buy factory style connectors:

I have heard a many of issues with Painless Wiring.  I am bout to install a Ron Francis kit.

When you spice in the OEM style connectors to the Painless harness try to solder and shrink wrap the connections instead of using crimp on connectors. Yeah, soldering makes it more painfull than painless, but the connections won't come lose or heat up due to increased resistance from them coming lose. Ask me how I know ...  :banghead: :pullinghair: :swear:

I have done the RF kit as well , very similar to the Painless wiring

Im just finishing up my painless harness.  I actually enjoyed doing it.  I spliced, soldered,  and heat shrinked every connection. I reused plastic connectors from old harnesses,  but I didn't splice the wires.  I pulled the old connectors out of them and bought Delphi/Packard series 56 connectors. Crimped them on the wires with a pair of matco open barrel crimpers. Crimps them like factory crimps.  Then they just snap into the harness connector. I also used painless connectors for making a gauge cluster and switch panel harness.  Making it a lot easier to just plug it in and install the cluster.  They make them with several different number of pin choices.  I used the 15 pin connector on each. Also will need the open barrel crimpers for attaching the included pins. Wrapped everything up in painless power braid.  Makes it all very nice looking and protected.
