Att'n non-car enthusiast wives
« on: July 08, 2014 - 10:42:57 AM »
My wife isn't car crazy and may or may not spend some time at the show. Are there any other spouses that are looking  to do something other than look at cars and search the swap meet?
In search of the eternal buzz!

Good question.  My wife will be bored all weekend.  I'd rather she do something that she likes instead of follow me around with a frown on her face.

My wife will be sitting by the pool all weekend....................in our backyard that is  :blah:

She came in 1999 when we were dating....and that was enough for her...NEVER went to another show after that ! :2thumbs:

While my wife helps me installdrivetrains and is very capable of building her own engine, constant car stuff she can't do. The best thing to do is do something after the meet. While she may not be there, I send her shopping. As a normal activity she'll read a book or garden.

When we have done Carlie, it is always dinner and something else as well afterwards. Movies, touring the town or state area, river fishing in which she like to do a lot.

When I went with my old car club, many of the wife's got together and went elsewhere together and did stuff. Have your wife's hook up! It's better than frowns, pouts and complaints.

Good luck

There is a women's oasis at Carlisle. It's a big tent, but I shut my eyes whenever I walk past it because I don't want to know what goes on in there.   :grinno:

Maybe someone else knows?

My wife knows that this show is for me and not her. She would rather stay home.

In '06, When I drove the whole Hot Rod Power Tour, I told her that we were driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and the views were terrific. Everyday was another scenic drive.

Her response was "Yes, but it ends at a car show everyday"

I realized that she would never enjoy the Power Tour or any type of show or driving that I love to do.

The only show my wife will consider going to is the Mopar Nats and only if we get a golf cart.  She is not into walking in the heat all day just to look at some cars . . . .  :grinno:

My wife will be at the show, Murray, hanging out at the tent mostly and keeping our toddler from going insane, I suspect.

In recent years I've felt like the show has flown by - there are so many people to meet and chat with, and just general stuff to go look at.  My wife has never felt bored, and we don't even do stuff like hit the swaps or anything like that.  (Not many Viper parts for sale down there anyways! lol!)

It sounds like Neil might be someone to contact to see if she can meet up with Pam for Friday at least.
