Would anyone like to help me find this?

Hi!
So for the last couple of years I've been trying to find my dads old 1970 Dodge Challenger that he restored in the 80s as just a project. was a 340, 727 trans. and was a Blue color before stripping it and painting black. and no it was not an RT that's just a detail he decided to put on there to act cool around his friends lol.
pictures can be seen here:
I will be calling the DMV again soon, the only thing that I have found out is that the license plate there, was "390 RVJ" when he bought it and then shortly after my dad changed it to "VHALEN1 or VHALEN2" not quite sure which.
When I called the DMV the first time they really didn't give me any info on it as far as VIN number goes, as I don't have that obviously it'd make this a lot easier.
I would love it if someone could help me on this Journey of finding this. It would surely mean a lot to him. As most people who sell there cars, later down the road they think it's been crushed. But I have high hopes for this one.
Thanks,
-Alan
Oh and before I forget, he was living in Cupertino California, but I'm not quite sure where it was licensed.

Greetings, Alan. We just had a member find his father's car, so it IS possible. That being said, without a VIN to search for you'll never really even know if the car you found is definitely the right car. Although, finding a car in a barn with a VHALEN1 california plate would certainly be a big hint
Good luck.

Too bad you don't have a closer picture of the fender tag.

I hope you find it!
It's a needle in a haystack without a vin though. You never know though someone might recognize your posted pictures! Mine came from CA but is a /6 car so it couldn't be it.
