Starter motor

I am installing starter soon.  I have headers already installed.  I did this on purpose because I have a goal to buy MSD mini starter and slide it in with header in place.  Is my goal possible?  440 car :feedback:

Ummm even with the mini starter, you'll have to take the header off. On my car, I can unbolt it, drop it down, move it about, and get the starter in without completely removing it, but i don't think you can install it with the headers bolted up. I have Doug's headers. It shouldn't be too hard. Good luck!

Here in a couple of weeks I will most definitely brag on here if I manage to slide one in there.  It may not be possible but I'm tired of dealing with the factory starter swap.  What would be the best mini starter out there.  I'd like to get the most dependable one out there

I have a DB electric starter on my Chally now. I know quite a few Mopar guys that have used them with no problems and they are priced very reasonable.  :2thumbs:

disassemble the starter into two or three pieces,
pass parts through headers, then re-assemble.
Never done this, but it might be worth looking at.

I have used the factory starters scavenged from the wreckers  , $4 will get new contacts & 5 mins to replace them in for $30 total  :2thumbs:

I just bought a DB Electric for my customer's car.....Be awhile before I crank it over though...

All this aftermarket stuff is really new to me.... :crazy:

Bought a DB for mine and it fit perfectly.

Haven't cranked it over yet but should do so soon.
