Replacing Brake Check Valve, Help?
« on: November 17, 2013 - 05:51:16 AM »
I'm looking to replace my brake booster check valve and I'm having a hard time sourcing parts. Bellow are some photographs of the current system which goes from the brake booster to intake manifold.

When installing the new check valve I'll plumb it to the carb.

The internal diameter of the brake booster to check valve grommet is 0.825"
The vacuum brake line is 11/32"

Couple of questions,
-What is the large cylinder on the left end of the tubing? My first guess is some kind of filter
-Do I need the large cylinder on the left end of the tubing?
-I'm having a hard time finding a source for a replacement check valve of these dimensions, is summit the wrong place to be looking?

Thanks in advance

I believe he large canister is just a filter. Don't know how necessary it is. The check valve usually can be
gotten off the Help rack at most auto parts stores.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I'll take a look in the morning, the problem is going to be finding a check valve that is the right size. Everything over here will be in standard metric sizes.

Check valve replaced, apparently for check valves there are two standard international sizes. I'm just so used to things not being compatible that I just figured the correct size check valve would not b accessible here.
