My fork fell off the bearing
« on: November 16, 2013 - 11:54:18 PM »
Put the 833 trans on today.

While aligning the spline shaft thru, the clutch fork fell off of the throwout bearing.

Been a long time since I did this.
Will it be hard to get the fork back onto the throwout bearing now that the trans bellhousing is on?

I think I recollect, I can push it back onto the clips with the spring on the fork all at the same time?
Is that correct?

Or do I wrestle underneath to get the spings on the fork?

Hi TC
Same thing has happened to me as well. When you push the fork back onto it's pivot, the throw out bearing will rotate somewhat around the 833 input shaft assisting in re-attaching the clip on the other side of the fork. You probably have to reach in there with a flat screwdriver from underneath to assist the clip engaging the fork. It's doable!
