    I may be new to this site, but not new to Challengers or Barracudas. I bought my first Challenger in the summer of 1973 and I still have it. It's a '73 Rallye with auto in Super Blue. It's currently undergoing a partial restoration (some bodywork and paint) but I plan on returning it to a driver soon.
    I also own a 2009 Challenger RT with 6 speed manual.

    Nice color!  :naughty:  Is it a 318 or 340?  Auto or manual?

    1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

    It's an 340 auto, 3.23 gear with sure-grip. I've long since replaced the original motor with a 340 out of a 1969 Dart Sport so it has the big valve "X" heads with 9 to 1 pistons. I've also collected a few bare blocks and steel cranks through the years for backups.

    LOL about the hood ornament. That was my first wife. It turned out the car was a lot less maintenance!

    That picture was taken at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in the summer of 1975. We were there with a car club and actually got to run around their high banked oval, on the lower lanes of course. If you look in the background you'll see the Chrysler turbine car prototype parked there.

    Here is how the car looks today. I pulled the engine/trans due to the freeze plugs leaking and a trans leak.

    You're absolutely right. It was a trunk-lip mounted antenna which I still have and also the Midland CB radio. You just didn't travel without one in those days. Nobody travelled 55 mph!
