Building my 727 BB for 700-800 HP
« on: December 02, 2013 - 08:57:04 PM »
Im getting close to finishing my build on my Cuda, and I am looking to send off my 727 to get built to handle 700-800 Horsepower. Its not going to be a race car, but mainly just a once in a blue moon cruiser and go to coffee and cars every month or so. So my question is this. So I continue to build this 727 or should I go another route. I was wanting to stick with the same trans so I can keep my console and all of that still intact.

No reason the 727 cannot take it , we did a blower car that ran 10.04 @ 136 + MPH with a 727 , I do recommend a blanket & sheild in case it comes apart as I did see a drum leave through the passenger door of a race car at the track one night , it went over the stands !! luckily it did not go out the drivers door , it would have removed limbs on the way out .
 Lenco is another choice

Ok, then I guess I will just go ahead with the 2 build. Now for the convertor, you think a 2800 stall should be fine for street driven?

Converter is part of the whole pkg so it need to match the poowerband of the engine , / cam /intake etc you want the converter to stall about 400 RPM after you are into the powerband as a minimum
