firm feel steering box adjustment

Tried playing with the valving but it has changed it at all.

Technician spoke to a local steering guy who feels we’d need to pull it apart – after referring to the service manual, it seems we don’t have the appropriate tooling to pull it apart

any ideas on a good way to pull it apart ?

He said it might be a wave washer (?) which apparently helps it return to centre. i wonder if he means the spool valve ?

Does this sound right ?

Is this something anyone here has done?

Any thoughts?

Dennis is a good guy, they all are, he understands our issues with living so far away and should be able to help out over the phone, they are west coast so are on the phone almost up until lunchtime our time
