Came across this ad on the Washington DC CL for what is suppose to be an original R-code HemiCuda that was raced by the "legendary Earnest Montgomery of Clinton MD." Car looks like a genuine vintage race car. As for the "legendary" Earnest Montgomery, I couldn't find anything on him - even with Google. Anybody know of this car and the "legendary" Earnest Montgomery? Here's the link and the ad:
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/cto/4217924601.html"1970 Hemi cuda, real "R" code with only 5880 documented miles (mostly 1/4 at at time). originally an export car to a Pakistan embacy boy. Then purchased by the lengendary Earnest Montgomery of Clinton MD. he started the racing career of the legendary car. originally born Plum Crazy purple. The car has minimal rust. the engine is a rebuilt 426 hemi, dated correct for the car and never stamped with a vin number. the trans is a hemi 4 speed, the original Dana is uncut. 60's and 70's race cars have become exremely popular and about as valuable as restored cars. I also have all the major parts to restore this car back to original (full qrtrs, trunk floor, wheel wells, frame rails, etc, except the shaker and carbs. All body vins match the dash vin. i do not have the build sheet. Currently, it is not running. this could be your chance of a lifetime. $85,000 - i would consider taking 1 or 2 cars as partial payment. you can reach me at 540-974-2110"
