4 spd 833 from junkyard, great day
« on: February 19, 2005 - 10:04:45 PM »
went back to that junkyard I visited months ago for another look.
Searched thru a pile of engines, trans and rear ends and found a very nice 833 4 spd from a e body cuda.
Lugged it up to the office and asked what they wanted for it.
$45.00 cause he doesnt know if its in good shape or not.
Yup, loaded it in my truck for 45 bucks.
Insides look very nice, all the shifting yokes work smooth as silk.
Have not decoded the vin number yet to see what year e body cuda its from.

Even better news, the owner (88 years old, I think he is starting to like me) said if I come back next week and bring him a pork tenderloin from a diner in the town I live in, he will take me in "the main building" and show me the "GOOD STUFF". Says he has several plymouth 4 spds in great shape. But because he knows they are good, he will want 300 or 400 bucks.
Can you say HEMI? If one is a hemi, I will be loading it up. Plan to be there at 9 am sat with two tenderloins.

I actually went there today to try and buy a 67 mustang fastback that I found hidden between 6 school buses. Hope to get the mustang next saturday also.
My youngest son wants to build an Elanor clone. Cant get him switched to mopars yet:)

What a great day :driving:
