70 Cuda wiper clearance problems...Update... Fixed :)
« on: December 19, 2013 - 10:13:28 PM »
My driver side wiper lower arm hits the polished stainless/chrome strip at the bottom of the windshield and prevents it from parking. Are these arms flexible enough to slightly tweak/bend enough to get clearance ? Also, is there any suppliers of these arms ? I've done a lot of searching through YearOne, ClassicIndustries and Roseville websites and no one appears to carry them.

common problem & it will often damage the parking feature of the wiper motor . yes the arms can be tweaked , also make sure u use a low profile wiper blade it it can jam against the hood

When I first bought my Cuda, I told myself that if I was going to do it, do it right when it came to fixing things on it and I'm use to paying high dollar for stuff, but $385 for ONE wiper arm !??!?!

ggrrrrrrrrrr :swear:

Wowza 385 smackers!

Now I'm eyeing my wiper arms with a different vantage point.

I feel into that trap...When I restored the Barrelcuda...I had over $1200 into my wiper blades and arms :22yikes: Something that's barely seen and have never been used....What a waste of money....

Fixed it !!  :)   Problem was where left green arrow is at was hitting the chrome/stainless trim at bottom of windshield preventing wipers from parking.

Place red arrow in vise. Blue arrow use crescent wrench or anything that can get a good hold and gently twist. The steel is very strong and hard to bend.
Also... Green arrows is where there's steel rivets that were loose. I used a drift punch and tapped on them a couple of times to take out the slop. Wipers work good as new now !
