Rear Speaker Fader Switch
« on: September 05, 2016 - 04:02:12 PM »
I'm so confused....Is there more then one style rear speaker fader switch for E Bodies ?

According to the FSM, the one I have is use with a non-stereo, single front speaker dash.

I have an AM/FM with dual rear speakers and a three speaker dash with the crossover box.

NONE of the wires are matching up ? PITA :pullinghair:

Don't have a picture at the moment, but the stereo version has two dash pots, looks like one stacked on top of the other.  :2cents:

I will look for a picture.

Found this

Picture won't post. :swear:

Here is one of the harnesses, but no fader. Last one I got, had to buy the radio too!   :bricks1:

Thanks for the lead...The rear speaker harness I have appears to have the wrong connector on it too, if that is the correct harness :pullinghair:

That's a super hard find.
That looks exactly like my 5 speaker dash pot switch.

It took me a year to find mine. There's a rosette nut that goes on them as well.

Here's a picture of the fader switch.

http://www.2040-parts.com/_content/items/images/13/1165813/003.jpg

It had a special nut with the fader switch and bezel.

It's the same type of nut you will find on a 72-74 E body windshield wiper switch.

How to I wire rear speakers to an AM radio with a single front speaker ? That's the next car...It also has the rear speaker fader switch on the dash.
