What does Datatags charge to make a tag?
Checked their website but it said to send email for quote, someone here must have got one?

I paid $250 for the pair of AAR tags. Not sure if that means each was $125 or if the second one was cheaper....
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Thanks for the info, my car is nothing special.
Maybe in the future, needs many other things first.

Great business model though, $125 for $1 worths of sheet metal and probably 1hr labor.

My Challenger is not that rare but when I restored my Hemi Super Bee (Sold last year) I kept the tag in a lock box locked inside of my tool box. There is a guy in the next town over that has a V code 70 Challenger project that kept the build sheet and fender tag in his house. His house burnt down and he lost everything. He been trying to sell the car for a few years but has no documentation except the VIN tag on the dash and hand written info that he can remember.

Just Got a quote from data tags to redo my fender tag they wanted $150. You get all depends on how much on the tag they need to reproduce.
My tag sits in a file drawer with the rest of the Challengers papers. Plan is to leave the original with the papers and have one reproduced to put on the car. Nice and clean without turned corners. It will be painted body color

Since I'm still restoring my 'Cuda right now it's in my safe.  However, when the car is finished (if that ever happens) it will go on the car. :2thumbs: It will be the last part installed.   :2thumbs: :ylsuper:

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Mine are kept on the car. With todays technology, it would be wise to have pictures of the important tags, title, vin etc and store them on a site like for picture hosting or similar. Have them in a private folder, then that way if the unforeseen were to happen like in the house burning, one would at least have the ability to substantiate the car and possibly obtain some new tags etc.  :2thumbs:

I have two cars that were parked outside years ago and the tags were stolen.  I had one tag and build sheet in the house in a filing cabinet and they were stolen.  The police figured the crooks just grabbed several files in the hope that something good would be in them.  I am sure the tag and the buildsheet ended up in the trash.  Now I keep a copy of everything stored in more than one location.  You just never know.  My cars are not accessible to others anymore so the tags stay on them and a photo of the tag is at a family members home in another state.
