Help Identifying Markings
« on: December 24, 2013 - 08:11:28 PM »
Hello,

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct subsection, but here is my story.  I have a coworker that is a huge fan of '70 Cuda's and would like to get one in retirement (we'll see if he has any money left over) and so I thought for his birthday I would get him a framed photo.  I found a great one, but I'm confused as to the markings on it.  The badge looks like (and forgive me if my terminology is incorrect, I just turned 30 so I'm out of the loop) an AAR with the red white and blue, but I can't find anything that shows anything about the 426 Hemi option for this badge.  Can someone take a look at this and tell me if it's original and any details behind it like year and how someone would have gotten this as an option?  I'd really appreciate it.

Merry Christmas,

Andy

What you have their is a mad eup decal set, the AAR was the closest thing you could find to that arrangement of decal, but it was only available in Matt Black, the other problem with the picture is that the decal arrangement is mounted on a convertible, they were never released in an AAR convertible. You may need to get someone to photoshop your needs if you are wnating a Red, White and Blue colour scheme.
Hope this helps with your question :2thumbs:

Thank you so much! I don't want to get him anything that isn't authentic, I had a feeling it wasn't legit.  Again, thanks for the help.
