Red Seat cover advice for 73 challenger
« on: December 26, 2013 - 01:54:35 PM »
Need new seat covers in my 73 challenger and want to convert to red from black. What year covers should I look for? Do I need new foam, existing is in good condition but will I need a different shape? Anything else I will need for the front and back?

If your seat foams are in good shape, you are ahead of the game. They only reproduce the 70-71 seat foam.

Legendary Interiors is the way to go for seat covers. They can even custom make covers for you. (see my pic)

You just need a set of hog rings and hog ring pliers. They aren't expensive, but the job took me about 6 hours.   :o

What years did they offer red seats? 70 only? If I have 73 foam do I need to get new foam to have stock red 70 covers installed?

Anyone have pics of legendary covers in red?

:iagree: I am sure they would make anything you desire. I called them two weeks ago about of seat trims for a Challenger, very helpful and their is nothing they can not do. :2thumbs:

It is'nt hard to install the covers yourself, but if you haven't done it before, I would order the covers and have a pro do the front seats.  The fronts are difficult to get right, and tear one, and you are pretty much done

The rear bench is VERY easy and a sure do it your selfer  While doing the rear, look for your build sheet!   Thats where I found mine for my 71!

ask Legendary if they will make 73 covers in red.

:iagree: That's the easiest route....They'll make pretty much whatever you want.
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !
