? numbers of '70 Challenger
« on: December 26, 2017 - 10:20:45 AM »
I found some numbers stamped in the drivers side rear frame rail of my wifes '70 Challenger and are curious what they mean.  "TSL 30-2" They are right near where the front of the leaf spring mounts.  I'm trying to post a pic, but not having any luck. Thanks in advance for any help! Mark

I have found random numbers like that on many sheet metal items of my car. I am not sure but I believe they are some sort of part numbers the factory used to ID stuff before spot welding it on. I haven't made much sense of them.

I believe that many of those "random" numbers were/are manufacturing numbers; meaning they designate what that part fits but isn't the same as a "part number" used to order a replacement. In manufacturing it is not uncommon to use unique manufacturing drawings and numbers.

when you hit reply, look at the bottom of the block you would type in, there is a + with "attachments and other options", click on that and it allows you to attach pictures. Take note of the max size.
