rear valance stiffeners
« on: January 12, 2014 - 01:42:32 AM »
On the 1970 barracudas were the rear valance stiffeners that bolted under the tail panel and to the valance at the top and bottom under the car standard on all cars or just some? Do I need them if I don't have them? There were two of them with one on each side in the approximate location of the tank straps.

My Cuda doesn't have them either, Ive been looking at several pictures of unfinished and finished cars and have not seen any fitted.

Yes surgeon thanks for finding a pic. Do all 70 barracudas have these or were they an option or part of an upgrade somehow. My 70 does not have them.

My 70 Cuda does not have them but with all the previous owners my car has had there is no way to tell if they were removed at one time or never came with them in the first place.  I recently purchased a new rear valence for the car and I also bought the brackets figuring the car must be missing them like so many other things it is missing.  :(

This is an interesting question, hopefully someone will chime in who knows about this.  I am curious to find out what the story is with these brackets as well.
