Dan who drives and maintains the E-max Hotchkis Challenger told me that E-max has green bearings and that they replace them after every race weekend.  They just treat them as a maintenance wear item.  Of course E-max is driven REALLY hard and on sticky tires so your experience may vary.

And for the guys that might think the factory tapered bearings are better than the greens. Some great info here http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=4740404&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1

Looked like about a 50/50 mix of opinions. Never ran green bearings, so I couldn't say either way other
than what I've read and/or heard.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Ford Falcon GTs and GTHOs in Australia ran ball bearings in the diff. Believe older Mustangs did here as well. Only ever saw one wheel c/w axle attached come out in a track car. No issues with mine but I bought the snap ring type. I just check them each car season.

If Dr. Diff says run Green bearings thats pretty much all I need to hear.  I doubt there are too many people who know more than he does on the subject.

After reading the Dr diff article it sounds like it is only the old style green bearings that are prone to premature wear and have gotten the bad rap but didn`t really see much of an argument to change from the factory tapered setup either.
