If I mixed up the two wires to the coil on my 70 chally w/ electronic ign. would it still fire up?

About five years ago when I last had the engine out, I didnt mark the darn wires,

It fired right up so I figured I got it right but since I got the engine out again I would do it right for a change!

it will usually work but the spark will not be so good .

brown 12v + while cranking 7v running

I seem to remember a black wire with a yellow trace being on my negative.

Correct , the Electronic ign uses a black / yellow trace wire on the - coil terminal

Did you doubt me Neil??

I should have said this wire was on the electronic ignition conversion kit. It wasn't on the stock 1970 wiring harness.

Thanks for the clarification guy's. I know my car was converted to electronic but I didnt want to just the colour of the wire.
