Is this the correct Louver for a Cuda ?
« on: January 18, 2014 - 10:57:53 AM »
When I bought my car I was told this was the correct factory louver for a Cuda. It is aluminum, but after finding other things on the car I was "mislead" about and reading in these forums that there is a difference between Cuda and Challenger Louvers, I started wondering about how these fit. Does the correct ones fit like this ?

Pic is hard to tell but from what I have seen I would say no. Is there pins towards the middle holding it down?

Comparing your picture to the picure on Dale's site, I'd say close but no cigar. Dale's is supposed to have an exceptionally close
copy from what I have heard. And your pic shows the louver lower than the trim, where Dales louver is higher then the trim.  :dunno:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Challenger louvers are wider and squarer if that makes sense...You would have to see a picture of them side by side to notice the difference.

I would GUESS yours might be Challenger. GUESS. :2cents:

My car is an original louvered car. I bought Dales louvers as mine were missing. They were a dead on bolt up.  Not sure from your pic what you are looking at but mine look the same. They are about 3" from the outside of the louvers to the inside edge of the window trim and taper out at the bottom.  Just went out and took a quick measurement (it's cold out) . Where the bottom corner of the window tuns to the outside edge of louvers is 4 1/2".  If what Alan is refering to (?) the bottom slat on mine are rounded off to follow the turn of the vinyl top trim.  Would like to see a comparison between cuda and challenger, because I'm not sure of the differences either.

My car did not come from the factory with the louvers, they were added. But they are suppose to be the factory Cuda louvers and there is pins holding them at the bottom. What I wasn't sure about was how far away from the window near the bottom they are.
