Child car seats??
« on: March 23, 2017 - 08:42:02 PM »
Hey guys, new to the forum. The forum has given a wealth of knowledge in my '72 Challenger build but, kinda stuck on this one. I want to make transporting my daughter safe, obviously safe driving is the ultimate safety measure but I was wondering if anyone has installed a child's car seat or three point seat belts for a child's car seat(my daughter is 1.5 years old) in the rear seats of their e body? Any problems? Or have you just used the center lap belt? I know seat belts laws vary from state to state, I'm in PA.

Thanks in advance, Mike

I've given this some thought myself regarding my granddaughter the same age and think about pulling the rear seat lower and upper with an eye to installing a plate that could be sandwiched on top of the metal parcel shelf and under the trim panel with an end coming out over the seat top, that you could hook the centre restraint to. It'd take some screwing around, but you should be able to do it. Perhaps a wee bit of junk yard cruising to see if there's a better oem setup you could re-purpose? Just my  :2cents: Oh, and by the way, welcome to the site from  :canada:
