Trunk Divider Dimensions
« on: January 28, 2014 - 04:35:24 PM »
Hey, anyone got a drawing or sketch of a 73 Cuda trunk divider? I hate to pay fifty bucks plus oversize shipping,  for a piece of hardboard,
thanks,
tj

Google images returned a bunch of photos. Here's an example:

Yes, I found hundreds of pictures but zero with dimensions on them. As a last resort I can make one to fit my car but it would be easier to have a drawing to use.
thanks.

I used my old divider as a template on some masonite.  The dimensions for the divider on my Challenger are roughly 51" x 20".

Yes, If I had an old divider to use as a pattern, I would be in good shape, but my cuda did not have one when I bought it.  So, if someone could trace theirs and make me a paper copy, I would greatly appreciate it. And I would, of course, pay for shipping.

Does it really need to be that accurate? You have a picture of the shape, you have the car, get out the measuring tape and have at it... :dunno:

If you were worried about accuracy, you could just buy one. To be honest, the REM reproductions are not 100% accurate either... :smilielol:

I've got one in the basement that I could make you a paper pattern of.  I believe it was originally from a '72 Challenger but am pretty sure they're all the same. Please just give me a day or two, I've got some other stuff to take care of and it's my older son's birthday tomorrow. I did this once many years ago for someone here (can't remember him) but i think he was happy.

Sorry I didn't chime in on this sooner, like I said, I'm kinda busy with some stuff. If you want, you can PM me your address and I'll let you know when it's in the mail.

That would be very kind. I will PM you. There is no hurry since my car is in the paint shop and I told them to keep it for another month at least; it was 22 below this morning and my garage is not heated.  I can work on this while waiting for my car to return. True, I could order one but I can make one too.

Your pattern is on it's way. I forgot to write the thickness down so here it is. My digital caliper said .113, that's between 7/64 & 1/8. Also it doesn't look like cardboard, it's made of something different and denser. Here's a pic before it was traced. Yes the bottom right corner is damaged, I traced what it should be.

Jay you are a scholar and a gentleman; thank you very much. I remember these from the 70s ( I had a new 71 Duster in 71) and they were some sort of hard pressed fiber/paper board.
