6-Pack Carb Identification
« on: February 06, 2014 - 12:00:59 AM »
I took my intake off the 440 today and was wondering if anyone knows what these carbs came off? Rear carb - 1139 LIST 4393, Center carb - 1209 LIST 4391, Front carb - 1139 LIST 4394.
I am planning a rebuild on each as well as Promax base plates.

1969 A12 Manual
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Is the intake aluminum or cast iron would be a good indication. :2cents:

The date code is the 1139 & 1209 , 113 is the day , 9 is the year so it looks like a matched set
the lower # carb should be in front 4393 , rear is 4394 .

The intake is aluminum but can't find any numbers depicting a part number?

:clueless: 19691/2 A12 cars came with an aluminum intake from the factory as well as some early 1970 V code cars. :2cents:

That's why I asked if the intake was aluminum because, as Cody said, the carbs are correct for an A12 car. :2cents:

That's correct. All A12 cars had aluminum intakes and I believe that was ma mopars intent however Edelbrock couldn't make them fast enough so they resorted to cast mid 70. That's my understanding anyway?

Well just like Alan said "You learn something new every day!"

Pretty cool to see an aluminum intake from the late sixties.  :2thumbs:
