ma mopar works in mysterious ways

Well a few weeks ago, Mother Nature showed her power and opened a sinkhole and destroyed a bunch of rare vettes, now Ma Mopar is trying to even the playing field :(. Say goodbye to 93 early vipers, including some pre-production models

That's sad, but it's hard to say what Chrysler's past really is. It's gone from being an American company, to a German company, to a company bailed out by the American taxpayer, to an Italian company. I would guess that the current regime has no interest in retaining history that far back.

The cars were pre-production is what I had read on one story. Any chassis built before the crash testing was completed and approved cannot ever be put onto the road.  I don't think it's a huge loss. Some of the parts might not even work for other applications. They are just clearing up a loose end.

I understand keeping 1 or 2 but 93 of them? It's not shocking that they will be destroyed.

“It’s like the day Kennedy was shot,” Norm Chapman, automotive technology professor at SPSCC, told The Olympian. “No one will forget where they were when they heard the news.”

really?  certainly is a shame to see a bunch of vipers crushed, but as impactful as the day kennedy was shot??  come on now...
