Engine ID
« on: February 07, 2014 - 05:11:53 PM »
Since it seems I have a 1969 6-pack matching numbers A12 intake and carbs in my 71 Cuda. I was wondering if the block came out of a A12 car as well. I know it's a 1969 block.

Beside the distributor is "E440" and under that spaced apart is "4 1 2"
Passenger side is 2536430-5 and above that is 02-18-69
ID on the oil pan rail same side is C263510 its very hard to read

drivers side is 2536-430

Any idea what this engine came out of?

The E in E 440 stands for:

A = 65
B = 66
C = 67
D = 68
E = 69

and so on...

All the A12 cars I've seen have been built at the Lynch Road plant.  Your engine appears to be a Jefferson build.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
