two piece e-body trunk floor

I laid the two piece trunk floor in place and with a tight fit at the wells the overlap at the center is a half inch long. Cutting the right half will make it fit but the creases in the floor will be too close together and not give the proper look. Is this a common problem with 2-piece trunk pans ?

I cannot answer you question as I put a full trunk in mine.  But couldn't you just take the same amount off both side? 1/4 inch each.  Yes it's a pain to cut both sides, but to keep the right look it may be worth it.

What style two piece floor pan are you trying to fit? They have two styles  being made that i know of. I my self also did a full pan install was pretty easy here's a link with some pics on how i did it if u change your mind.

I used the two piece in mine and we had to trim both sides to get it to fit properly.  Good luck!

Toss them in, set them up evenly and drill a few 1/8" holes to screw them together where they overlap. Take them out of the car and support them and take a good metal blade on a sawsall and using a chalk line mark, cut through the both of them which will give you your width AND the gap to weld them back together again. it's a PITA and by the time you grind and finish the welds, you'll have invested enough time to have bought the one piece. I've had these parts for many years I bought the car new and finally completed my garage got it in and stripped down. The pans are from Year One and when I bought them they may have been all that was available because I don't think I would have bought the two piece. Any cutting of the pans were they but would ruin the alignment of the pressed in creases in the pan that are located in that area. I'm leaning toward coming in two inches off center on the left hand side and removing a half inch from the pan then weld the remaining two pieces together all the creases in the pan would have the correct look and the flange for the lap weld would still be there. The area I cut is fairly flat with no holes so the only change will be the pan will be a half inch off center. I don't have my trunk extensions yet and see a wide range of prices between E-Bay,Year One and Classic they don't even appear to have the same features are there any opinions on this ? I've always been happy with amd products the gauge of the sheet metal is thicker then most manufactures. maybe someone who's had experience with goodmark parts will chime in.

Is this a cuda or challenger?

how much have you removed?

have any progress pics so we can get a idea?

When I bought my car, the guy gave me Year One 2 piece trunk pan. I forgot the date on the sticker but I think they were pretty old. They did not fit well at all. I spent many hours trimming and hammering to make them fit.  I used a goodmark trunk extention. Mine fit perfect.  If I didn't have the 2 piece that came with the car, I would have bought a one piece.

The old two piece pans fit terrible. I know because I had to totally reshape the wheel area so the pans would move over enough to align the seem in the center.

Save your time and get a new two piece or I really suggest the one piece. AMD fits great either way.

I second the vote for  amd  one piece pan even goodmark is down to 175 right now at summit.  It was easy to do a one piece if you haven't look check out my link in the previous post. have a few pics it can be painlessly done and the results  and price of a one piece out weight the stress of a two piece. I started with a two piece floor didn't wanna bother. Now they are collecting dust under my dune buggy.

I'm still curious if its a cuda or challenger.
