Wiring aftermarket radio

My car did not even come with a radio when i bought it several years ago. I decided to put in a nice but simple system. I think i have located the power connection for the old radio. it is a T shaped 2 plug in style. Has 1 red, 2 orange and 1 black. I believe the red and orange are together and the black separate. Hard to see up under the dash to be sure ( i need glasses). Red and orange are hot for the power and illumination lighting, not sure about the black. Is it a ground wire?

On a '70, the plug had two orange wires on one side and a brown (or brown w/ black tracer)) on the other side.  The orange is for the light behind the dial which should go on with the dash lights.  The reason there are two orange wires is that the circuit is continued after that plug to some other place that needs dash lighting.  The brown is the power to  the radio and comes from the fuse block.  If your aftermarket radio has a clock on it, you'll probably want to wire it to a constant 12v power source.

Yep. i found the red tri-plug up under the dash. i can use that to keep my clock from re-setting each time i turn the car on.
