Correct Jack for 71 Challenger???

tommyg29 the only difference I see between your base plate and mine is yours has a round hole and mine is slotted.I am far from being an expert so I don`t know what the significance if any would be.Yours looks great cleaned up,how did you get that gold tone on the mast was it replated or painted?! I like the black on mine may keep it that color when I repaint it.Where can I find that sticker for the base?I like little details like that as well to me they really make a big difference!

I think I got a sticker from Year One years ago.  I'm sure I paid way too much for it though.  I think ECS has those stickers now too.

I measured mine at about 35", but the maximum that can fit within the slot is about 37".
Not absolutley positive mine is oem original (for a 71 cuda), but it must be close since it fits perfectly.
Do a search of the site for jack mast length. I did see some other measurements a few weeks ago when I was researching.
There are several good threads about jacks.
In the end I think there were many slight variations because of the vendors that supplied them back then, and how mopar handled their supplies, so I cant imagine a judge sweating an inch or two, but Ive been wrong before!

Hey guys,

I thought I would let all of you know I scored me a correctly dated jack and correct hook (1102) this week.  Jack is dated 1D (1971 April) for my car which was built in July 71.   

I am waiting for it to get here will post up some pics when it does ....

I belive that 6/71 was the crossover to slotted bumpers on the challenger.  Since the OP car was built 7/71 it should have the slots.

My '70 came with the original jack, and now I may strip and repaint it, and install in the trunk.
But, I would NEVER consider ever using it to jack up and change a tyre!!   It is the worst design for a jack ever!! Dangerous as all get out!!  It will be for looks only!
