    The only difference is in the front bumper. On the lower side, the opening between the "downward flaps" is wider on the 70's. Like 8"-10" wider

    Here is mine ´71 with ´70 bumper, I adjusted bumber low as possible, so the gaps are not visible at all:

    I wonder what was to gain by making the drops closer together for the 71.

    Now, I have been looking for a set of 71's for some time.  I've not had one chance at a set.
    Are these 71's like hens teeth?  near impossible to find?

    They were made that way to match the opening in the lower valance. :2cents:

    I prefer original.

    But I am curious as to your opinion on the quality of the repops.
    Have you installed and dealt with any of the 71's?

    Are they made through the same company and are you happy with them?

    I have no experence with them. It's been 20 years since I've done a Cuda with rubber bumpers....

    Did you see the 71 Cudas recently listed on Moparts for sale ? There is a rubber bumper car in that list...

    I think the repros come from same molding, you can even order 71 and trim it yourself to 70. Sometimes they are available on Ebay, for 850 USD piece.

    I was looking also OEM 71 long time, but prices was way over 1000 USD when ever you could find one on sale.
    Then I found one project 70 bumper (3 out of 4 bolts broken) from this forum, fixed the bolts and little massaging.
    I am happy for it, and in black car it is hard to see that opening is bigger than it should.

    Hey Josh, the difference is unbelievable. You run the risk of getting an original to fit compared to the Gene Gregory bumpers that go straight on and fit unreal. :2thumbs: They are the way to go buddy. I have an original here that i have to tweak a fair bit, and i will be getting myself some Gene bumpers also.
