Uploaded pictures from a server being deleted
« on: July 11, 2014 - 10:41:41 PM »
I've been seeing uploaded pictures that were uploaded from places like Imageshack and photobucket changed or deleted.

Why?

They shouldn't be taking up any room here.

From personal experience I have found out that if you move a picture within your Photobucket album you "break" the hyperlink "path" to the picture and the link becomes a dead-end because the picture is no longer at the destination specified in the hyperlink.

I didn't move any pictures.

However, my Imageshack account wanted to charge me a price to stay.
I declined as there are so many other server sites.

I never thought that it could be why they are all dissapearing on my resto page.

There just seems to be no simple answer to keep pictures in place permanently without any disturbance.

it is a tough issue that I regret not planning for.  I did not think this board would be as good as it is when we started some 13 years ago, and that's my fault.  that said, pictures are no longer being deleted by me.  and I don't have control over the imageshack pictures, so if those are being deleted its certainly not because of me or the board.  this is still however something I wish to remedy and im always thinking about it.  ill try to get this solved as I know its the biggest issue for the members and I want to keep you guys happy.
