Lower the break pedal on my Challenger 1970

Hi guys, my brake pedal is too high "up" and not in line with the accelerator pedal. Is there any way to lower it. It's 18cm from floor which is too high.

Look at the picture. Is it possible to cut the arm like half inch to lower my pedal to floor. I have very good brakes, discs and booster. From start probably drums w/o booster.

Please advice!

the pushrod can be shortened , you will have to move the light switch down to match , don't go too far so the switch will not reach

I'll just add that the brake pedal was supposed to be higher than the gas pedal by design back then. Just in case you mistake one for the other I suppose.

Well Im not sure about that... I got a couple of e-bodys (both cuda and chally) and stock discbreaks with booster has not the brake pedal 18cm from floor... thats an original discs with booster. It is in line with gas pedal.

Same thing with my Cuda and Charger, the pedals are even.

The Challenger on the other hand, having manual brakes, the pedal is waaaaay higher than the gas pedal. Annoyingly high to the point I too considered cutting the rod but as Mr Psycho said above, it would affect the switch.......

That's probably what it is. The manual brakes probably used more leverage and needed more pedal travel to stop the car effectively.

I didn't give that a thought, but I too have manual brakes. No just touching the pedal lightly to stop.

that's why you run so much. Keep that braking leg strong.
