2 types of sure grips , cone & clutch
cone has a floating pin , I remember when I was learning someone warned me the pins would fall out , the cone type the pin is captive & cannot fall out , typically 489 only have cone type sure grips but 40 years have passed & often cones are installed in any carrier , the cone can be identified with 2 spider gears + 2 axle / side gears .
The clutch type were in the older carriers 741 or 742 , but again things get changed , they have 4 spider gears + 2 axle or side gears . these have a button that is rivited together , after a few miles the rivit quits & the button will fall out often sticking to the end of the axle & pull out with the axle , the only way to install them is to pull the carrier out or use a 4' magnet & incredible aim LOL .
Mopar used to carry the buttons , Dr Diff would be the first place I would call .
