challenger 340 motor mounts
« on: March 16, 2014 - 01:07:12 PM »
Looking for 1970 challenger motor mount brackets with or without rubber mounts for a 340.  Is there is a difference in k frames?  Or what other mounts (a,b,e) can be used?

You just need small block mounts. The E-body k frame puts the engine in the right place. The rubber mounts you can buy anywhere like Napa I think they're like $8 each. I may have some extras in a couple of weeks if you don't find some.

From what I found out 340 mounts are slightly different. One side is a little narrower than a 318 or a 360 mount but could be used for a 340 by adding a few washers to make up the difference in width.

Yes you are right definately on the 360 you need a couple of washers. It's been awhile since I've dealt with it. I will look and see which ones I have.

340 and 360 are the same width on the one side. 318 has the narrower mount and correponding "ears" on the block.

The 340-360 uses the same passenger side mount as the 273/318 but the driver side mount is about 1/4 inch narrower (see pic below) If the driver side mount is NOT narrower, it is not a real 340 mount!
