Hello! New from Nebraska!
« on: April 04, 2014 - 02:00:07 PM »
Hello!  I just bought my first older Mopar.  I've had an '09 Challenger R/T for 5 years.  My husband has a couple of older Chevy muscle cars.  So, I decided it was time I have my own.  I recently purchased a 73 Cuda with a 440 and a Coan automatic transmission.  I'm loving it! And it gets lots of looks.  I don't know much about the older Mopars, so I'm slowly learning and doing lots of research.

I do have a couple of questions for the seasoned Mopar experts out there.  Supposedly my Cuda has a somewhat rare front 3 speaker dash option.  I have the middle speaker grill but not the outer two.  I understand the Challenger and Cuda grills are different.  Does anyone know where I can get a set of outer speaker grills or do you any extras lying around?

Also, I have the non-rally dash cluster that has 3 holes under the Fuel, oil and temp gauges.  One is for my bright headlights and lights up red.  My blinker indicators are on the speedo.  What are the other two holes for?  Are they idiot lights for the oil and temp?

Thanks!  From Beatrice.  E-brake.  Thanks...I forgot about that possibility. I'm missing two lights.  I only have the light for the brights.

Welcome to the site. Cool car.

I believe the cars with single speaker came with AM radio and three speaker cars had the AM/FM radio. If your dash pad has been replaced with a single speaker pad then it may be difficult to add two more speakers. I would think the pad frame is not cut out for the other two speakers but I'm not ceertain about that. Another possibilty is that somebody put a single speaker dash pad cover on and under it are the original three speakers. I'm not sure why anybody would do that sometimes people do weird things. Just some thoughts. I find that part of the fun with these old cars is trying to figure out what previous owners have done and why.

Thanks blown motor.

My dash pad has the holes for all 3 speakers.  I'm just looking for the outer speaker grills and/or speakers. So I can cover the holes.
