73 Challenger - need new rear valance, moved in bumpers
« on: April 04, 2014 - 02:19:06 PM »
I searched and didn't find this information, I think I know the answer but want to be sure before I purchase. I need a new smooth rear valance (no cutouts) for my 73 challenger. I cut the brackets and moved the bumper in flush with the body. I need to buy a 70 style smooth valance right? Without the V shaped bracket that bumps out the license plate for the 5mph bumper guards? I'm buying AMD part #960-2570, look right?

Thanks for the help!

The only difference in the rear valances is that V shaped bracket which can be easily removed by drilling out the spot welds. Everything else is the same. :2cents:

Also, what do I need to mount the rear valance? The one one that came on my car was hanging on by wire. Are there mounting kits with all the correct screws and what not I will need?

Yes you can get a "rear valance hardware kit" or just better wire

Any suggestions on where to find this kit? Only saw a few on ebay so far.

Also, does anyone have a picture of all the proper mounting locations for the rear valance?

What's the difference between the hardware kit for the 70-71 rear valance and the 72-74 rear valance?
